2 ½ c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening ½ tsp. baking powder Mix with pastry knife to an oatmeal consistency. 1 egg beaten 1 tsp. vinegar Put egg and vinegar in measuring cup, fill to ½ with water. Add to crumbles. Mix apple pie filling, add applesauce and ½ tsp. cinnamon ¼ tsp. nutmeg ¼ tsp cloves 2 tbsp sugar Put filling into pie crust before cooking. Add top of pie crust and crimp edges. Brush top pie crust with lemon juice. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top. Use tapioca to thicken apple mixture. Add 1 tsp of butter and 1 Tbsp of tapioca to apple mixture. Heat oven to 425 degrees and cook pie for 10 minutes then turn down to 325 degrees and cook for approx 45 minutes.
